SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Baer is expected to return from his three-month suspension on Tuesday, July 2, but Baer will not have the same level of power within the organization.
The Giants announced Saturday that Baer will rejoin the franchise in his prior role, but he will no longer be his own boss. Baer, 61, will report to interim CEO Rob Dean, who will continue serving as Chairman of the Board and the team’s “control person,” with Major League Baseball.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced on March 26 that Baer would be suspended for three months without pay after Baer was involved in a public altercation with his wife, Pam, in San Francisco.
