Mike Krukow will cut his Giants broadcast schedule to 120 games this season, with former relievers Jeremy Affeldt and just-retired Javier Lopez taking his place, Krukow revealed on KNBR on Thursday morning.
Krukow said on the “Murph & Mac Show” that Affeldt and Lopez would team with Duane Kuiper, and sometimes Dave Flemming, to call games that are broadcast on NBC Bay Area.
Krukow’s mobility is hampered by a progressive disease, making it tougher to get around. He alluded to his health when citing the reason he will broadcast fewer games in 2017, saying it was “not by the Giants’ design.
