SAN FRANCISCO–Bruce Bochy said Mac Williamson is not experiencing any concussion symptoms.
But after crashing into the wall along the left field line at AT&T Park on Tuesday and being scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with neck stiffness, Williamson is in concussion protocol.
The Giants aren’t certain if Williamson will need a trip to the disabled list, but they added outfielder Austin Slater to the roster on Friday ahead of their four-game series against the Dodgers.
Slater isn’t taking Williamson’s place, as both outfielders are active. Instead, Slater will take the roster spot of reliever Josh Osich, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a hip strain.
