Giants' Johnny Cueto goes the distance vs. Rockies, makes bid to start for NL All-Stars

SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants made a health-based change to their beleaguered bullpen Wednesday, swapping out Cory Gearrin with Albert Suarez. But they cannot overhaul its composition in a day. They cannot force other clubs to trade them relief.

The best they can do now is to keep the faith, and minimize exposure.

No pitcher in the National League has done the latter better this season than Johnny Cueto. The right-hander leads the league in innings pitched, and in front of a sellout crowd, he went the distance while leading the Giants to a 5-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
