PHILADELPHIA — The Giants need to start winning behind their best pitchers.
Heading into Wednesday night’s game against th Phillies, the Giants are 1-9 in the past 10 games started by Madison Bumgarner, Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija, who gets pushed back to Friday so newcomer Matt Moore can go Thursday.
The one win in that stretch was their 2-1, 12-inning game at Yankee Stadium on July 23.
The offense needs to support the pitching, an improving bullpen (Tuesday night aside) needs to hold what leads the starters provide and the starters need to go deeper into games.
