SAN FRANCISCO -- Gorkys Hernandez stayed hot after a three-hit performance on Tuesday, coming out on top in a 14-pitch at-bat against Marlins starter Jose Urena in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game at AT&T Park.
The Giants outfielder fell behind in the count 0-2. He then proceeded to foul off eight pitches and take three off the plate before capping the at-bat by slashing a two-run single to right field.
The hit put the Giants up, 5-1, and chased Urena with two outs in the sixth inning.
