At the moment, Matt Moore is scheduled to pitch in Washington on Sunday. There is a chance he will not.
Asked if he might skip Moore at some point to let him work on his command issues away from the limelight, manager Bruce Bochy said the staff has discussed it, and not just once.
"I think you have to think about it and we have," Bochy said. "You'd be crazy not to see if it helps."
Bochy has done this with other pitchers, including Barry Zito and Tim Lincecum. Then-manager Felipe Alou and pitching coach Dave Righetti did it skipped Matt Cain in 2006.
