The MLB offseason is fully underway, which means one thing. Well, it means many things, but among those many things is this one thing: Minor League free agents. Lots of them. So many of them.
According to Baseball America, 422 players have been declared Minor League free agents for this offseason. That equals about 14 Minor League free agents per organization. The San Francisco Giants are a little bit above average (hey, we don’t get to say that much these days) and have 16.
Here they are:
Cristhian Adames (INF)
Enderson Franco (RHP)
Yapson Gomez (LHP)
Zach Green (3B)
Tyler Heineman (C)
Chris Herrmann (C)
Jake Jewell (RHP)
Jesus Liranzo (RHP)
Luis Madero (RHP)
Rodolfo Martinez (RHP)
Sam Moll (LHP)
Carlos Navas (RHP)
Joey Rickard (OF)
Nolan Riggs (RHP)
Jose Siri (OF)
Kean Wong (2B)
Five of those players — Adames, Franco, Green, Heineman, and Rickard — ended up playing games for the Giants.
