Giants hand Rockies ninth-inning run, fall to 0-8 at Coors Field

DENVER - Watching Pablo Sandoval enjoy his teammates in the clubhouse and bounce around the field, batting practice, one would not guess he has not had a hit in more than 10 days.

"Look at Pablo," manager Bruce Bochy said during batting practice Monday. "He sure loves baseball."

Problem is, Sandoval has not been very good at it since the Giants gave him a second life in San Francisco.

On a weird Labor Day afternoon at Coors Field, which seemed be filled with haze from forest fires, Sandoval extended his hitless streak to 33 at-bats before the Giants flat gave away the winning run in a 4-3 Rockies victory.
