DENVER - A normal baseball game was played at Coors Field on Saturday.
Normal, as in not 10-9 or 10-8, Thursday’s and Friday’s scores.
Normal, as in 5-1, Rockies over the Giants.
Of course Rockies over the Giants, who took their fifth straight loss and 13th in 17 games.
This did not have the makings of a pitchers’ duel, not after the Giants surrendered 20 runs the previous two games and Matt Cain posted a 7.13 ERA over his previous eight starts.
But Cain, who had struggled mightily on the road, did what Matt Moore and Jeff Samardzija didn’t do.
