SAN FRANCISCO — Pinch-hitter Nick Hundley hit a two-run bases-loaded single with two out in the ninth inning Monday night to give the Giants a 6-5 win over the San Diego Padres at AT&T Park.
In the ninth inning, Austin Slater was hit by a pitch, and after Gorkys Hernandez and Andrew McCutcheon struck out, Buster Posey walked and Evan Longoria blooped a run-scoring single to put runners at first and third. Brandon Belt walked, with Hundley singling in the winning runs past shortstop.
The Giants did all the damage off starter and loser Brad Hand, and after going scoreless from the second through the eighth innings.
