WASHINGTON — At some point Sunday night, manager Bruce Bochy was going to get tossed. The familiar lava flow was building after a night of anger directed toward home-plate umpire Phil Cuzzi.
Who could guess that Ryan Vogelsong would beat Bochy to the punch, getting run for the first time in his career? Bochy soon followed, and both watched last innings of the Giants’ miserable trip from the clubhouse, where at least they were spared the crowd roars as the Nationals completed a 3-1 victory.
The Giants ate six bagels on their journey to Miami and Washington, their first winless trip that long since they went 0-6 through San Diego and Los Angeles in April, 2009.
