MoMo’s restaurant, the East Bay offshoot of a San Francisco Giants fan favorite, has struck out in Walnut Creek.
Employees of the Golden Bear Restaurant Group on Monday confirmed the closing.
It’s the second shutdown of a Giants-themed restaurant at this 1444 N. California Blvd. site. McCovey’s — with all of its baseball memorabilia — had been in business here for 11 years.
Perhaps an Oakland A’s motif would be a better bet at this site?
Entrepreneurs Peter and Janet Osborne of the Golden Bear group opened this 235-seat MoMo’s American Bar & Grill in early 2017, almost 20 years after launching the original in San Francisco in 1998 near what was to become today’s Oracle Park.
