Giants fall to Nationals after Strickland, Harper brawl

As the clock struck 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, the Giants and Nationals stood on the field for a planned moment of silence to remember the nation's fallen soldiers on Memorial Day.

That was the last silent moment during the Nationals' 3-0 victory against the Giants, because Hunter Strickland chose this day to settle a score with Bryce Harper over two long-ago home runs.

The result was a ferocious fistfight between the two, benches emptying and the ejection of both players, a seemingly needless show of testosterone that roused a sellout crowd that otherwise was lulled by a typically anemic show by Giants hitters.
