The San Francisco Giants lost to the Miami Marlins tonight, 4-3. Not only did they fall to the last place team in the national league, they fell back under .500 once again. And the dream of baseball after September starts to slip further and further away. This was a series they needed to pick up wins from.
Mason Black did his best to help them achieve that, with a really solid start in his first game for the Giants since May. Black allowed two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in five innings. I would argue that it was better than that, because one of those runs really should have been unearned.
