LOS ANGELES–There isn’t a one-size-fits-all, tried-and-true formula for success when it comes to baseball, but the Giants and Dodgers have each tried their hand at developing winning recipes against one another this season.
In the first two games of the year at Dodger Stadium, Joe Panik hit solo home runs and the Giants blanked their rivals with a pair of 1-0 wins.
In each of the last two games, Los Angeles outfielders Matt Kemp and Kiké Hernández homered, lifting the Dodgers to back-to-back wins and a series victory.
Kemp and Hernández blasted balls into the left field bleachers Saturday against Giants ace Madison Bumgarner, who lost his third straight start in San Francisco’s 3-1 defeat.
