DENVER - Manager Bruce Bochy summoned his hitting coaches, Hensley Meulens and Steve Decker, for a Saturday morning powwow.
One of the main subjects was the lineup and whether to tweak it. The Giants were winning consistently but hitting just .223 and averaging 3.2 runs over 10 games. Lineup tweaks?
A resounding no.
The Giants collected 16 hits Saturday and another 17 Sunday in their 8-3 victory over the Rockies, giving them 16 wins in 18 games heading into a series against the league’s worst team, the Braves.
“It’s about staying behind the guys and not changing things up because we’ve been on a pretty good roll here,” Bochy said.
