Giants do a little walking off, just for fun

Monday’s series opener between the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros was not billed as a pitchers’ duel, but it’s exactly what we were gifted. Kyle Harrison and Spencer Arrighetti may eventually end up as bonafide aces, but in the interim they are rookies trying to find their way in the league, and trying to drop their ERAs into happier territory. Days such as Monday help each youngster in that admirable quest.

The Giants have tried to avoid saddling Harrison with the burden of being a savior. To this point in the season, he’s merely been a 22-year old exciting prospect, learning how to ride his bike without training wheels at whatever pace works for him.
