PEORIA, Ariz. - The Giants finally got to see their regular outfield play together. For four innings.
Flanked by Angel Pagan in left field and Hunter Pence in right, Denard Span debuted in center field against the Mariners after rehabbing a sore throwing arm, only to leave early when he jammed his other shoulder "pretty good," manager Bruce Bochy said. Span tumbled on the only flyball he had a chance to catch.
"I can't catch a break," said Span, who was due to be off Thursday anyway. His Friday status depends on how the newly injured right shoulder responds.
