The Giants' 32-year-old center fielder got married for the first time in January, four weeks after proposing to Anne Schleper, a hockey player who won a silver medal with the United States in the 2014 Olympics.
Span's New Year's Eve proposal was something out of a romcom.
The couple was vacationing at a five-star hotel in Miami Beach and left for a nice dinner. As they ate, Span's cellphone rang with a prearranged call from his business manager.
When Span hung up he acted indignant, saying it was the hotel and their room had flooded.
