Giants decline options on Aoki, Byrd

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants declined options on outfielders Nori Aoki and Marlon Byrd on Wednesday night, but general manager Bobby Evans indicated that for the players and club, there remains mutual interest in a reunion.

Aoki's 2016 option was worth $5.5 million, while Byrd's was worth $8 million. The Giants can negotiate with Aoki and Byrd exclusively until 9 p.m. PT on Friday, at which point they would be able to sign with any club.
