Giants’ decimated outfield loses Denard Span to apparent shoulder injury

DENVER – It’s never good when outfielders drop flies. It’s even worse when they drop like flies.

Center fielder Denard Span exited Saturday’s game at Coors Field after he jammed his right shoulder into the fence while making a catch in the second inning. Conor Gillaspie pinch-hit for Span in the third.

The Giants already lost left fielder Jarrett Parker for at least two months because of a broken collarbone. And right fielder Hunter Pence didn’t start Saturday because he twisted his left knee while trying to react to an inside-the-park home run that he lost in the lights Friday night.
