DENVER — Mac Williamson is back on the field for the San Francisco Giants, but the bullpen mounds he tumbled over in April, 2018 may soon be off the field at Oracle Park.
Williamson suffered a devastating concussion chasing a Bryce Harper flyball in foul territory last season and spent the following five months dealing with symptoms that included blurred vision. After being designated for assignment by the Giants in March, Williamson earned his way back to the big league roster with a dominant month at Triple-A Sacramento.
Williamson rejoined the club at Coors Field in Denver Tuesday and gave a passionate statement on his belief that the Giants should join 27 other teams and move the bullpen mounds at their home park out of playable territory.
