SAN FRANCISCO — A potential answer to the Giants left field problems could surface in a few weeks.
Outfielder Jarrett Parker took on-field batting practice for the first time since he broke his right clavicle in April before the Giants game against the Atlanta Braves at AT&T Park Saturday afternoon and the team expects him to start a rehab assignment in about a week.
Manager Bruce Bochy said he’s “hopeful” that Parker could be available in about three weeks.
“We’ll see where he’s at a couple weeks into rehab,” the Giants manager said.
The Giants had high hopes for the 28-year-old outfielder when they penciled him in as their starting left fielder on opening day.
