Giants collapse, lose on Casilla’s 10th-inning balk

SAN DIEGO — Buster Posey’s 10th-inning home run, which fired up his Giants teammates, especially Jeff Samardzija, was simply an afterthought.

Closer Santiago Casilla surrendered two 10th-inning runs, and the Giants fell to the Padres 7-6 Saturday night, giving them their second straight loss since the All-Star break and first losing streak in July.

Casilla gave up three straight singles to Alex Dickerson, Derek Norris and Adam Rosales, whose grounder through a drawn-in infield tied the score. The game ended when Casilla balked.

With Alexei Ramirez at the plate, Casilla tripped off the mound and tried to make a pitch, and umpire Dana DeMuth immediately called a balk and waved in Norris.
