LOS ANGELES – Giants third base coach Roberto Kelly was dizzy but improving after getting struck in the head by an errant throw from Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager after the sixth inning Sunday.
Kelly was in the dugout and wearing his helmet when Seager’s warmup throw sailed past Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.
Kelly was escorted to the clubhouse by trainers. Assistant hitting coach Steve Decker replaced him as the third base coach for the remainder of the Giants’ 3-1 loss.
Kelly has had a tough start to the season. He also missed more than a week of spring training because of a strained calf muscle that put him in a walking boot.
