Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi began his tenure in November by announcing that no potential transaction was too small to ignore if it could help the club.
Three months later, fans have a much better understanding of what Zaidi meant.
The Giants claimed John Andreoli off waivers from the Texas Rangers Friday, adding a 28-year-old outfielder with just 61 career major league at-bats. To make room for Andreoli on the roster, San Francisco designated right-handed reliever Derek Law for assignment.
The move is another small transaction in an offseason that’s been filled with them for the Giants.
