Christian Arroyo's first big-league homer was not exactly forgotten, but it was sort of pushed to the background when Michael Morse hit his unreal game-tying homer against the Dodgers in the eighth inning of Wednesday night’s 4-3 win.
The Dodgers had done the Giants a huge favor by removing lefty Alex Wood after six innings of one-hit ball. Wood took a no-hitter into the sixth when Drew Stubbs singled for his first hit as a Giant.
But Wood, like Ty Blach, started the year in the bullpen. Manager Dave Roberts decided to yank him after six innings and 78 pitches.
