SAN FRANCISCO — Some mistakes simply can’t be overcome, and that was the problem for Andrew Suarez Wednesday in a 6-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at AT&T Park.
Suarez (1-3) got off to a horrible start and was behind 4-0 before many in the crowd had even taken their seats.
The left-hander righted himself and ended up lasting six innings, giving up just one more unearned run in the process, but the Giants couldn’t mount enough of an offense to pull off a sweep of the Reds. The Giants fell to 22-22, with the Reds improving to 15-29.
