SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants made two rosters moves before Friday's game, activating infielder Conor Gillaspie from the disabled list and calling up switch-hitting infield prospect Miguel Gomez from Double-A Richmond.
Gillaspie had been out with back spasms, his second stint on the disabled list because of them this season. The third baseman, who entered Friday hitting .137 on the year, had missed 45 of the last 50 games because of the injury.
Gillaspie replaces Ryder Jones, who was placed on the 10-day DL with a right wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch Saturday in Pittsburgh.
