Giants, Cain don't like the fit of these plus-fours in shutout loss to Diamondbacks

SAN FRANCISCO – Although some segments of the fan base might be howling, it’s easy for Giants manager Bruce Bochy to disregard the two blown saves from closer Santiago Casilla in the early going. The ninth inning, Bochy said, is not the problem.

The fifth inning? That’s another matter. Especially if you’re Matt Cain.

For the third consecutive start, Cain cruised until he got bruised. He took a no-hitter into the fifth, and 14 pitches later, Bochy took the baseball in a 3-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night

The Giants lost for the sixth time in seven games and were shut out for the first time this season as Diamondbacks left-hander Robbie Ray kept them off balance for most of the night.
