SAN FRANCISCO — Buster Posey’s season will be coming to an end this weekend. His Giants teammates probably wish they were in the same boat after Friday’s meltdown at China Basin.
After the Giants dropped a 7-6 decision to the Texas Rangers in 10 innings at AT&T Park, Posey told reporters that he will be traveling to Vail, Colo. after the series to undergo a surgical procedure on his hip Monday.
The news comes in the wake of a 4-6 road trip that all but ended the Giants season earlier this week. Friday’s heartbreaking loss ended up being the exclamation point.
