Giants, Brandon Crawford agree to six-year deal

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants locked up one of their key players for the foreseeable future Tuesday, reaching an agreement with shortstop Brandon Crawford on a six-year contract through 2021.

The deal, announced in a release, covers Crawford’s remaining two arbitration years and first four years of free agency. While financial terms of the contract were not released, a source confirmed the deal is worth $75 million. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the deal also includes a full no-trade clause.

The Giants have a recent history of signing their young stars to long-term deals, and Crawford, 28, is coming off the best season of his career.
