Gorkys Hernandez has had his share of struggles this year, like many Giants, but manager Bruce Bochy praised the outfielder for how he overcame his bad start.
“If you break up his season, it’s one of the best comebacks with the start he had,” Bochy said. “He’s come on strong. He was one of our better hitters for quite a while.”
Hernandez was unavailable for the opener of the Diamondbacks series because of a left wrist sprain, and it’s questionable whether he’ll play again this season. Hernandez began feeling it two to three weeks ago, and it progressively worsened.
