Brandon Belt is an All-Star.
The Giants first baseman beat out four other National Leaguers in three days of voting for the final fan-elected spot, according to Major League Baseball, which just announced the results. Belt edged out Pirates left fielder Starling Marte, who at times led the balloting.
Belt is an All-Star for the first time in his six-year big-league career.
Blue Jays outfielder Michael Saunders won the American League vote.
Belt and Marte were on the online ballot with Colorado's Trevor Story, Milwaukee's Ryan Braun and Arizona's Jake Lamb.
Fans waged a spirited campaign through social media, with update showing Belt and Marte see-sawing in the lead.
