Giants' Beede shines, Mella struggles in Futures Game

The Giants were represented by two arms in the Futures Game to kickoff Major League Baseball's All-Star Game weekend, and one shined while the other struggled.

Tyler Beede, the Giants' top pick in last year's draft, only threw one inning, but showed why he could help the big league club sooner rather than later. Beede threw a scoreless inning where he only gave up one hit for Team USA.

For Team World, San Francisco's prospect wasn't as fortunate on Sunday as Beede.

Keury Mella, who the Giants signed as an international free agent in Sept. of 2011, only lasted 1/3 inning in Cincinnati.
