On the day after Jarrett Parker’s three-homer outburst, Giants manager Bruce Bochy had some fun with bench coach Ron Wotus. Bochy handed Wotus the lineup card Sunday morning, as usual — but without Parker included.
And the printable version of Wotus’ reaction: “You’re messing with me.”
Yes, Bochy was kidding. He knows better than to bench a hitter the day after he goes deep in triplicate.
Parker started in left field and batted seventh, one spot higher than he did Saturday. Bochy didn’t move the left-handed hitting Parker even higher, in part, because the A’s sent another left-hander (Sean Nolin) to the mound in the series finale.
