SAN FRANCISCO -- So many times in the Giants' listless and often luckless slog through the second half, manager Bruce Bochy was left to lament any number of situations that "were set up the way we wanted, and just didn't play out."
Finally, one played out in an 8-1 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night.Bochy took great pains to get the matchup he wanted in the seventh inning against Mets left-hander Jerry Blevins, burning pinch hitter Gregor Blanco for Ehire Adrianza. The switch-hitter slapped a two-out single to right field as Eduardo Núñez blazed home from second base with the tiebreaking run.
