PHOENIX - Nobody complained about Bruce Bochy’s managing job Friday night. At least between the lines.
The Giants beat the Diamondbacks 3-1 in textbook fashion, featuring Jeff Samardzija’s eight strong innings, Joe Panik’s three-run homer and Santiago Casilla’s two-out save.
With one out in the ninth, Bochy summoned Casilla for the save, one night after Casilla’s eruption on the mound due to his discontent over Bochy pulling him with the bases loaded and two outs.
Casilla apologized Friday. Bochy forgave him and said Casilla would remain the closer.
