SAN FRANCISCO — How bad are things getting for the Giants anemic offense?
Even the Atlanta Braves are tossing shutouts against them.
With a 2-0 loss to the Braves at AT&T Park Friday night, the Giants offense is officially the worst in all of Major League Baseball, averaging 3.32 runs per game after producing just six runs in their last four outings.
Friday’s shutout was the first thrown by the Braves pitching staff this season, a group that entered the game with the fifth-highest ERA (4.70) in the National League. The Giants (20-30) current funk is particularly frustrating considering that the offense produced 37 runs in eight games before going cold in Chicago this week.
