SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants' offense, typically lively at home, mustered five hits in eight innings against the San Diego Padres, who wielded the magic bats in a 6-2 victory Friday night at AT&T Park.
San Francisco, which averages approximately five runs per game at home, came nowhere close to reaching that number as Padres starter Clayton Richard and San Diego's bullpen maintained control.
A Richard wild pitch enabled Gorkys Hernandez to open the scoring in the first inning. San Diego quickly pulled even on Manuel Margot's RBI double one inning later.
