SAN FRANCISCO -- If the Giants felt alarmed or picked on as a result of the impending ban on smokeless tobacco that's unique to this city, they didn't show it.
On Friday, San Francisco mayor Ed Lee signed into law an ordinance that bars individuals -- even participants -- from using smokeless tobacco at sporting venues. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids singled out the city and state as ideal places to further its anti-smoking agenda.
Those who violate the law will be ejected from the premises.
"Today, San Francisco entered the history books as the first city to take tobacco out of baseball," said Matthew L.
