Giants arrive in New York to play Mets on Jerry Seinfeld's birthday

NEW YORK – It’s Jerry Seinfeld’s birthday and his favorite player is back in the lineup for his favorite team.

Yoenis Cespedes was on the shelf briefly with a bruised thigh but he’s playing for the Mets as the Giants arrive to start a three-game series.

Ordinarily, the Giants player we’d highlight in this visit to Citi Field would be Chris Heston, who threw a no-hitter here last season. But Heston, who opened this year as a long reliever, is back at Triple-A Sacramento.

It’ll be overcast all weekend with highs in the upper 50s and there’s some drizzle in the forecast for Friday night’s series opener.
