CINCINNATI — The Giants called up another outfielder Saturday and put him in left field.
“I’m hoping somebody steps up here soon,” said manager Bruce Bochy, who will continue to hold tryouts until someone can win a job, or at least hold it for a week.
The latest candidate is Justin Ruggiano, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Sacramento. To create roster space, outfielder Drew Stubbs was designated for assignment.
Stubbs was 2-for-22.
“It’s all about making adjustments,” Bochy said. “You have injuries, you need production somewhere.
