The San Francisco Giants waited until the sixth day of the 2020 MLB season before they made any moves to the roster. And by the standards they set in 2019, that’s a level of patience that I can’t quite wrap my head around.
Prior to Tuesday night’s home opener against the San Diego Padres, the Giants announced that catcher Chadwick Tromp had been added to the 30-man active roster. Fellow catcher Rob Brantly was subsequently designated for assignment.
Tromp, a 25-year old righty, earned rave reviews in Summer Camp from beat reporters and coaches alike.
