Giants acquire minor league infielder from Texas Rangers

SAN FRANCISCO — In a swap of minor leaguers, the Giants traded pitcher Clayton Blackburn to the Texas Rangers on Sunday for infielder Frandy De La Rosa and cash considerations.

De La Rosa, 21, is a switch-hitting second baseman and shortstop. Over four seasons in the minors, he is career .253 hitter with 8 home runs, 122 RBI and 44 stolen bases over 996 at-bats.

Blackburn, 24, who was designated for assignment Tuesday, has a 3.33 ERA over 126 career minor league games (115 as a starter). His best season came in 2015, when he went 10-4 and led the Pacific Coast League with a 2.
