SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants never got the chance to send Johnny Cueto to the mound against the Cubs in what would’ve been a decisive NL Division Series game last October.
But there will be plenty on the line when Cueto finally takes the ball again in early March. The twist: Giants stars like Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford could be facing Cueto instead of pulling for him.
Cueto is among the stars who will pitch for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic this spring. The Dominican team is tucked into a difficult bracket with Team USA, Colombia and Canada.
