On Thursday, the MLB Players Association released a statement reaffirming their stance on potentially returning to play. In it, the Players Association addressed the threat from the league to schedule a 40 or 50-game season at the commissioner’s behest.

After a Thursday conference call of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) Executive Board and more than 100 Player leaders in total, MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark issued the following statement:
“In this time of unprecedented suffering at home and abroad, Players want nothing more than to get back to work and provide baseball fans with the game we all love.
