The Pittsburgh Pirates came to an agreement with free-agent right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill on a one-year, $1.5 million contract with an additional $1 million in potential incentives, according to a report by Bob Nightengale. While Nightengale has a reputation for questionable reporting, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic later confirmed the report. Cahill was a member of the SF Giants pitching staff in 2020.
Coming off a disappointing 2019 season with the Los Angeles Angels, Cahill signed a minor-league contract with the Giants before last season.
