Former San Francisco Giants Have Greatest Impact on Game 1 of the World Series

Dave Roberts, the current Los Angeles Dodgers manager, also played parts of two seasons for the San Francisco Giants before retiring in 2008.

Nunez and Roberts became the key subjects in the most pivotal moment of Game 1 of the World Series.

With the score 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Roberts decided to pull relief pitcher Pedro Baez for former starter Alex Wood. Baez had struck out pinch-hitter Mitch Moreland and after intentionally walking J.D. Martinez, struck out Xander Bogaerts.
